Home Burglary Theft Claims Public Adjuster New Jersey NY

The discovery that someone has violated the privacy of your home or business is traumatic, and the distress that invariably arises when you’re making an insurance claim can be as bad as or even worse than the actual incident.

So often the written statement that insurance loss adjusters demand of you regarding the circumstances of the burglary leaves you, the innocent victim, feeling like the criminal rather than the victim. The onus of proving ownership and its value will always rest with you, and if you don’t have the receipts and valuations to back up your claim, then there is every possibility that your Insurers will not pay you out.

At Prime State Public Adjuster Miami Assessors, we have dealt with thousands of home burglary insurance claims over 30-years. We guarantee to get you every single penny you are entitled to. No Win, No Fee.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BURGLARY CLAIMS

The insurer’s appointed loss adjuster may try to claim as being impartial and independent, but our experience doesn’t. Indeed, at a lecture the Insurance Ombudsman himself told his audience of loss adjusters that it’s easy to see why people are wary of loss adjusters; “You always say how independent you are but, when there is a problem, you always weigh in favor of the insurance company”.

Prime State Public Adjuster Miami Assessors will formulate and negotiate your claim so we can get you the maximum entitlement under the terms of the policy.

Prime State Public Adjuster Miami Assessors will deal with all of the repairs that need to be made to your home, and we will help you substantiate everything that has been stolen. We have expert valuers within the company, and we don’t have to go out seeking third party valuations. Remember, we’re on your side, and we will not take any nonsense that the insurance company may throw at you. We are not independent; we are fiercely your best ally to get your claim quickly paid.

It is not uncommon, when your insurers validate your jewelry loss, for the value of the replacement jewelry to far exceed the valuables limit that appears on your policy. They often write to their insured confirming that “had they been aware of the value of your replacement jewelry they would not have offered you policy cover” and for this reason, they may avoid your policy and not pay your claim. Many policyholders have contacted Prime State Public Adjuster Miami Assessors, having been in this situation, and we have been very successful in negotiating with our client’s insurers whereby they have reversed their decision and have paid the valuables limit. This is only one example where insurers are trying to avoid paying home burglary insurance claims, and should you be in this position we can most certainly “help you get your claim paid”.

MY HOME HAS JUST BEEN BURGLED AND I AM ABOUT TO MAKE AN INSURANCE CLAIM. WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE TELEPHONING MY INSURANCE COMPANY?

In the unlikely event that you haven’t done so already, please telephone the local police and request a crime reference number. This is vital and will be requested by your insurers. Then contact a locksmith or glazier to secure the point of intruder entry.

WHAT DO I TELL THE POLICE IF THEY ASK ME FOR A LIST OF EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN STOLEN FROM OUR HOUSE?

By this time, you are likely to have made a small list of items that you found to be missing and the police will ask you to give them a copy of that list. It is most important you make very clear both verbally and in writing at the bottom of the missing items list that it is not necessarily an exhaustive list of every stolen item from every room. The list should be considered temporary until such time that you are able to carefully check your whole home.

So often, we find that victims of domestic burglaries give the police a list without suggesting that it has been drawn up in a rush and when they discover within the next week or so other items that were not so obvious are not in their place, insurers are very likely to consider the burglary insurance claim “suspect”. This can have a great and ominous effect in the administration of your claim and your insurers are also likely to appoint an Investigator to ask questions. Once again, all this could be avoided by simply writing those few words on your list of missing items.

I HAVE NEVER MADE A DOMESTIC BURGLARY INSURANCE CLAIM BEFORE… ANY TIPS?

Telephone your insurance company and get the name of the person you speak to in their claims department and ask them for a reference number. They will confirm that if the claim is large enough they will be instructing a Loss Adjuster to contact you in due course. This is the ideal time to instruct a Loss Assessor (we hope, us!) We will then telephone the Loss Adjusters directly and hopefully get them to visit your property far quicker than if you had telephoned them yourself. Please note that our meeting you before you meet the Insurance Company’s representative is not absolutely essential but ideally, we like to be at your home at the first meeting with the adjusters.

Please be mindful that it is essential that you inform the police and your insurers within hours of finding out you have been burgled. Insurance companies can, and often do, repudiate a claim if they feel that they have not been notified in good time.
